Azimut and Sunseeker Fire at Dock
TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale was hired to recover two vessels that caught fire while docked side by side. Once firefighting crews extinguished the blaze, containment boom was deployed to mitigate environmental damage. Crews removed diesel from the scene using oil absorbents and a skimmer, while divers performed extensive patching below the waterline. With the help of two large land-based cranes and high-volume dewatering pumps to lighten the load, each vessel was lifted, hauled out, blocked, and preserved for fire inspection.
